How to Set Up a FiveM Server
Complete guide to deploying and configuring your FiveM gaming server on SecureVM
Setting Up Your FiveM Server
Follow these steps to get your FiveM server running on SecureVM.io:
1. Get Your Server
Order a VPS or Dedicated Server from SecureVM.io with sufficient resources for your player count. We recommend at least 4GB RAM for small servers.
2. Install Essential Software
Once your server is ready, install the following tools via Remote Desktop:
- Notepad++ - For editing configuration files
- XAMPP - MySQL database server
- HeidiSQL - Database management tool
3. Configure Firewall
Open port 30120 in Windows Firewall to allow FiveM connections:
- Open Windows Defender Firewall
- Click "Advanced settings"
- Add new Inbound Rule for port 30120 (TCP & UDP)
4. Upload Server Files
There are two methods to upload your FiveM server files:
- Method 1: Use Remote Desktop and copy files directly
- Method 2: Upload to cloud storage (Google Drive/Dropbox) and download to server
5. Configure Server
Edit your server.cfg file using Notepad++:
- Set your server name and description
- Configure max players
- Add your resources
- Set your license key from keymaster.fivem.net
6. Start Your Server
Run FXServer.exe and wait for it to fully load. Test the connection by launching FiveM and connecting to your server IP.
